March 25, 2026 Elizabeth, April 1, 2026 Today is a typical spring day in the Seattle area. It’’s predicted to rain all day long and my double coated malamute is sitting outside in the rain, enjoying the cool air and the wet weather, apparently unfazed by either. As I write this I am contemplating whether to go share my voice at a karaoke bar tomorrow evening with my friend and some of her family. I am struggling with my decision because I am not feeling very well and concerned about getting other people sick. However my voice has changed so much in the past two decades and is exponentially better since my ex-husband left me and divorced me. There must be something about being independent and free that allows my voice to soar to new heights. Yesterday I received in the mail a copy of the latest Upper Room magazine for May/June 2026. I looked through it and found my meditation on tap for Mother’s Day.. I’m very excited about this coming up and further details will be forthcoming. I want to share a story I wrote a couple days ago, a microfiction piece called “From Holly to Ivy.” The very short story is about a woman finding her home and where she belongs. I hope you enjoy it, and check out other poems and stories that I’ve written on my website. Uncategorized
